Wolfgang holds a degree of economy of the Technische Universitaet Berlin and started his financial career as an auditor and consultant of BDO. His professional focus was on customers of the German VC area. From 2001 to 2006 Wolfgang worked for 3i as fund manager. His portfolio comprised 5 Venture Capital funds in Germany and one in The Netherlands.

Wolfgang was involved in portfolio transactions of 3i's Buy Out and Growth Capital Team in Frankfurt and was responsible for the valuation of 3i's German portfolio. In 2006 he took over responsibility for the financial accounts of 3i's German Business Unit. He joined Aescap in 2007 and also holds responsibility for the back office.
